Empty Nesting Retreats
After a year of qualitative research with over 60 families all over the world, I’ve learned a lot about this transition and its (often negative) impact. Empty nesting is almost always marked by significant changes in your family’s dynamics, daily routines, and the emotional landscape with your partner and other children. The emptying of the nest can bring a sense of freedom and the opportunity for you to focus on your personal goals and interests. It can also evoke emotions such as loneliness, sadness, or a reevaluation of your identity and purpose beyond the role of active parenting.
This life transition is a natural part of the family life cycle and can be expected, consciously talked about and planned for. With a plan, the potential greatly increases for your new life to be purpose filled, full of adventure, shared intimacies and common goal setting. I know that because I’ve helped many families do just this! And, I’d like to help more. Oh and, Steve and I are “veteran” empty nesters and experienced the roller coaster that it is!.
In this Empty Nest Retreat, we will, together, dig into what this transition means for you and your family. Much will be shared and learned in the gathering of other parents! And, I promise you that you will leave the retreat with an actual plan for how to navigate this change..oh and the tangible skills to support you in so doing! And, I will be there for you after the retreat to be sure the work you committed to do actually gets done - this is why my clients say that I lovingly kick them in the ass...
I'll be announcing the 2024 and 2025 Retreat dates and locations with deeper detail...stay tuned!
